FaenzaFaenza (35 km from the Passenger Terminal), a city of Etruscan-Roman origins, is known worldwide for its ceramics which date back to the 12th century. Its International Ceramics Museum contains splendid collections of objects from all epochs and countries. Not to be missed, in summer, is the historical re-evocation of the Palio del Niballo horse-race.




BrisighellaBrisighella (50 km from the Passenger Terminal) is an important spa centre which has maintained all the charm of its medieval origins. Its most striking architectural feature is the Rocca. A big attraction is the Medieval Festival event, reviving the fascination of ancient local medieval plays.


Parco del Delta del PoThe regional park of the Po Delta is the largest and most beautiful wetland area in Italy. It is a succession of oases and nature reserves that provide the ideal setting for photographic safaris to "capture" on film the numerous different species of birds that live and nest here (including flamingos, stilt plovers, herons and ducks). The landscape of the delta narrates a thousand-year-old history of coexistence between man and nature. A journey around the delta can be made by boat, on horseback, by bicycle or on foot. Since 1999 the delta area has been a UNESCO world heritage site, motivated by the fact it is a natural eco-system of incomparable importance.
