From the breakwater entrance to the Darsena San Vitale

Vessels other than tankers

Outgoing

Vessel's draft can be increased by 1 ft (30 cm) in conditions of hightide.

Larger vessels may be permitted to leave the port subject to the below limitations, with the aid of at least 2 tugs and provided that these are equipped with a radar apparatus with minimal range of 0,25 miles and a perfectly working P.P.I. of at least 16 inches.

Vessel's draught can be increased by 1 ft (30 cm) when these are equipped with adequate bow thrusters.

Vessel's draught can be increased by a further ft (30 cm) when these are equipped with 2 propulsion propellers with rudders in the wake, the greater draught level subsequently admitted for the height of the tide remaining unchanged.

For movement within the port, a draught of 28 feet is required.

For those vessel's with 2 propulsion propellers and 2 transverse thrusters, the aid of the 2 tugs is not obligatory.

Incoming

In adverse weather-marine conditions affecting visibility, current, wind or tide, the limitations to ship's size are respectively reduced as follows: LOA by 10 m. , BEAM by 1 m. and draft by 30 cm. (1 ft) in respect to the above-mentioned requirements /obligations.

Tanker vessels carrying inflammable products - Incoming and outgoing

The above LOA can be increased up to 185 m. for tanker vessels carrying inflammable products with a flash point equal to or lower than 65°C (categories A & B) or products which may develop harmful toxic clouds.

From the Darsena San Vitale to the Darsena di Città

Nocturnal navigation between the Mobile Bridge and the Darsena di Città is only permitted to vessels leaving the Port and to those unloading vessels moored with the bow to the sea. The moored vessels on the Adriatank side with the bow to the sea can carry out movement along the DE.CO.RA docks even if partially loaded.

Nocturnal navigation between the Darsena San Vitale and the Mobile Bridge is only permitted to vessels leaving the Port and to those unloading vessels with two stern propellers and four rudders in the wake (Slavutich type) with the bow turned to the sea.

Baiona Canal (P.I.R. Wharves)

Nocturnal navigation for those vessels moored with the bow towards land is only permitted if the overall length is less than 150 m.

Piombone Canal - West and East sides

Nocturnal Navigation is only permitted to smaller vessels/crafts (fishing, sport and leisure boats, sailing yachts) and to those associated with the support/link service with off-shore structures.
