Local Cuisine
There are excellent possibilities of going shopping in the city centre, buying hand-made mosaics, trying out the typical gastronomic products, the traditional local dishes and the first-rate wines of the Emilia-Romagna region.
Among its delights, the local cuisine includes delicious homemade pasta like Tagliatelle and Lasagne with meat sauce, exquisite Cappelletti filled with parmesan cheese and cooked in chicken broth and traditional Piadina romagnola bread which often accompanies dishes such as grilled meat, sliced salami, ham and gourmet cheese. Quality wines, also well known abroad, such as Sangiovese, Albana and Trebbiano, complete the local gastronomic specialities.
